Friends and relatives were not forgotten at Christmas time, and the post offices throughout the district report that all records were broken in all departments. At Wollongong 1,311 telegrams were handled on Christmas Eve. This was an increase of 750 on last year. Letters and parcels also showed a substantial increase. Over 500 telegrams were forwarded from the Woonona, Bulli and Thirroul Post Offices.
